Wolves Winger is Likely To Be on the Sidelines for Eight Weeks

Wolves v CardiffIt is now on the news, Wolves winger is likely to be on the sidelines for eight weeks. Boss Mick McCarthy indeed revealed that it seems like Michael Kightly really needs an ankle operation, the reason indeed for the said winger to be on the sidelines for eight weeks.

Kightly, after being forced off during the first half of Sunday’s game which was against Birmingham, went to a specialist for a check up. McCarthy then spoke in behalf of the winger and said, “he had a scan and it looks like he’ll need an operation which would be six to eight weeks out”.

The injury is of course something not helpful to the club and the player, who missed the start of the season following hip and foot surgery but then was able to be in good form.

But McCarthy acknowledges the fact that the injury is not as bad as it could have actually been and indeed said that, “the way he went over and rolled his ankle, apparently he’s quite lucky and it could have been worse”.

However, McCarthy also admits there is also a downside. He even said that, “we’ve not really had Michael at his full potential yet and Sunday was the first time we’d maybe seen that and then he picks up a new injury. It’s really disappointing for him because he wants to play and he thought he was somewhere at it”.

But then, everything will fall into place for sure. And at least, the injury is not that bad. It could have been very serious and may really be a big a trouble for the club and for the player naturally.

“He was really down about it all but he’s brightened up because it looks like being six to eight weeks. That’s almost good news in terms of what could have happened”, McCarthy said.
