Webber’s Contract With Red Bull Racing Extended

Mark WebberMark Webber’s contract with Red Bull Racing was recently confirmed to be actually extended. And with this confirmation, it was just confirmed that Webber will indeed continue to be driving for Red Bull Racing the next season.

And the leading in the 2010 driver standings expressed happiness with the extension of the contract when he was actually interviewed. For him, it was a decision not hard to make.

“It was an easy decision to remain with Red Bull Racing,” Webber said. “We began talking very early this year and were in a position to sign by the Barcelona Grand Prix. The decision to extend for a further year was a mutual one; it’s widely known that I’m not interested in hanging around in Formula One just for the sake of it and at this stage of my career, I’m happy to take one year at a time.”

And the driver affirmed that he indeed continues to feel very comfortable with the team.

“I continue to feel very comfortable here – I have a fantastic relationship with the whole team and the factory at Milton Keynes feels like home,” Webber said. “It’s been incredible to be part of the team as it’s moved forward from a mid-field competitor to one that is challenging for the championship. I hope we experience more success together in the future and achieve our ultimate goal of winning the world championship.”

While team principal Christian Horner was also interviewed and expressed optimism with the decision considering the driver is a must-have. Horner said that it was good to keep Webber as the driver has really good form and just leading in the drivers’ championship. And also the team principal said that it would be actually good to still have the partnership of Webber and of course Sebastian Vettel.
