Virgin Racing’s 2010 Campaign Moved to the Next Level

Virgin RacingNo doubt, Virgin Racing’s 2010 campaign moved to the next level as the VR-01, following its online launch the previous Wednesday, completed its first ever track run.

It was driver Timo Glock who drove the car through those road curves at Silvertone. And team mate Lucas di Grassi and guests have assembled in the UK circuit’s sidelines to see the car making its maiden run.

Glock, with his experience with VR-01, was glad. He said, “It was a fantastic moment for myself and the whole team to see the VR-01 come alive. It’s great to be back in a racing car.”

While Nick Wirth, Virtual Racing’s technical director, indeed stated, “After 10 challenging months, all the commitment and determination has finally paid off. Today was all about those tentative first few steps but the program really gets underway tomorrow with a full day of on-track evaluation for both Timo and Lucas.”

This year, the team will become a part of the grid along with the three other new squads. And before going to Jerez, Spain for the multi-team test that will last for four days, should actually go on with Silverstone shakedown.

Virtual Racing has started own 2010 campaign just right. Thus, it is not surprising if the team was able to complete the launching of the VR-01.

But there is still a great challenge for Virtual Racing. The team still needs to prove it deserves to be included on the grid and can be one of the top teams to look up to. However it started things right, considering the launching of one of the most anticipated cars that was successful.

Virtual Racing can just go on with the things it needs to do. But the team should just keep the same level of enthusiasm it showed in the beginning.
