The Wizards May Have Two of Their Starters Back By Weekend

Wizards.brendan.haywoodYes, the Washington Wizards may actually have two of their starters back on court by weekend. A certain league source somehow indicated that both swingman Mike Miller and forward Antawn Jamison may be back for the game on Saturday which will be against the Detroit Pistons.

Miller suffered from a sprained left shoulder during last week’s game that was against Miami as he clashed with Heat guard Mario Chalmers and worsen the injury as he came back later at second half after being fouled by Joel Anthony. While Jamison suffered from left shoulder subluxation in a pre-season game last October 14 which was against Cleveland as he tried to reach out to foul Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas. He actually missed all of the regular season games of the team.

The Wizards waited for so long for the return of Gilbert Arenas, who along with Brendan Haywood, suffered from season-long injuries. Their “big three”, Arenas, Butler and Jamison have barely played as one since early quarter of 2007. After acquiring Miller and Randy Foye of Minnesota, the team expects more from return of Arenas.

At this point, Arenas is Wizard’s only healthy point guard. The backups, Mike James and Javaris Crittenton were out of the court scenes for a long period of time. James suffered from a broken left hand while Crittenton had a left foot surgery. Foyle was also out of the court scenes because of sprained ankle which he got in Washington’s 90-76 loss, Tuesday in Miami. Right now, it is not yet clear when the former Minnesota player will come back. But the team seems complacent enough about getting though it all with flying colors. May be it helps that they realize that things like having many players injured can’t be actually prevented from occurring.
