The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the Brickyard 400
The NASCAR Sprint Cup is now roaring its way this weekend at The Brickyard 400 located at The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is something for every one of us to look forward to, for it has been long enough since we’ve seen the cars and the drivers race against each other in this arena. From the fans to the betters, this is a big event.
For most drivers, winning the race in this brickyard is a dream turning to reality. Six Drivers in the list for this race are called over from Indiana; two of them are Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon.
Tony Stewart was on the same road with Jeff Gordon in Indiana but chosen the path of driving Indy cars where he won a season title in IRL, his best driving stance was in the Indy 500 where he was placed 5th in 1997. In 2005, Stewart finally made his dream come true by winning on the Bricks and announced that it is his greatest win, ever greater than Daytona 500.
Jeff Gordon won the inaugural Brickyard 400 in 1994 just in his second year in the series and also his second win in his career but remained as the biggest win for his career because that put him into the road of mainstream America. Gordon has now four wins in Indy, twice as anyone else; he also won three Daytona 500 races. When opportunities came for him in NASCAR he grabs it and race it on.
A win by Stewart this week that is currently in the leads right now may even have his team as his rival against his greatest win ever. His won last month in Pocono is one reason why he is the spotlight of this week’s race.
The Pocono tracks are similar in distance and banking with Indy’s, so all the drivers that did great in last June’s Pocono Race will also do great at Indy’s this week. After this year’s running in Pocono, the best driving cars are from Ryan Newman who is in fifth, Jimmie Johnson who is in seventh and of course, Tony Stewart who started with a backup car but finally won.
Ryan Newman is now in seventh and this could be a nice week for him. Unlike Stewart, Newman has won in the Daytona 500 but doesn’t have a brickyard win. Newman is going to take this opportunity placed in his face to win the brick just like he did in Pocono.
For Carl Edwards, he did really well in Pocono and he’s just waiting for Stewart to have shortage of fuel in the last few laps of the race so he can make his way for the win.
Jimmie Johnson has won two in the last three Brickyard 400’s and has a huge possibility that he may win side by side with Stewart. The race in Brickyard 400 is not depending on points, it’s now a win or nothing.
So for all betters and fans out there, be ready to take this fun ride with your favorite drivers and cars for the Brickyard 400 race.
My pick, and my favorite driver, is Tony Stewart! He’s got a chance to win as does his teammate, Ryan Newman. But, not mentioned above, you better look out for the pole sitter, Mark Martin.
Your own bets are up to you, so bet wisely and enjoy the ride!
