Tejada Missed Sunday’s Lineup Due to Right Hip Abductor Strain
Fans of Miguel Tejada were a bit disappointed last Sunday as the Orioles infielder actually missed the lineup. They indeed thought despite of him not being that well physically, he could still be in the lineup for everyone’s favorite, the series finale in Oakland. Thus, they were little disappointed the previous Sunday when he did not make it to be a part of it because of the injury which specialists eventually called as right hip abductor strain.
But the fans of Tejada also became really concerned about the condition of the infielder after they have heard him talk about the sore in his hip.
“Today I was walking normal,” said Tejada in an interview last Sunday. “I didn’t feel any pain, I just feel a little bit sore. It’s not the groin, it’s the hip, and the trainers tell me it’s going to be a couple days.”
Tejada confirmed that the injury will only put him on the side for few days. It will only require him to stay out of the field for may be a couple of days and won’t actually put him on the 15-day disabled list.
“Running will probably be difficult, but nobody plays this game 100 percent [healthy],” said Tejada. “Always in this game, something is hurt. And I know how to play with pain in my body and I want to be in there. I just talked to the manager, and if I feel good [Monday], I’m going to try to go.”
Fans of Tejada were just unhappy then to see the infielder not in the lineup for series finale in Oakland. But they were also concerned about the condition of their baseball star. Now, if they were unhappy, it is understandable. After all, they are fans, and they just wanted to see him in the Sunday’s lineup.
