Rooney Warned by Selogilwe to Calm Down

Wayne RooneyA lot of fans got surprised with how the game of striker Wayne Rooney and his side against Platinum Stars of South African side actually ended. The game ended controversially with the 3-0 win over Platinum Stars and warning of referee Jeff Selogilwe.

Selogilwe got disappointed with the striker’s intensely hot display and so cautioned the striker to actually calm down. For Fabio Capello’s side, Rooney went into the field as a half-time substitute but then was booked and warned by Selogilwe to keep calm.

Selogilwe was interviewed after the game and expressed disappointment.

“I was very disappointed in Rooney because he is my favourite player,” said Selogilwe. “He insulted me. He is a good player when you see him on the TV, but when you see him on the pitch, he just keeps on insulting the referees.”

Selogilwe seemed unhappy but then the referee could just be if really something happened between them.

“To me it looks like Rooney insults people and fouls other players,” said Selogilwe. “If he insults a referee like me, then he will use that vulgar language to other referees as well. He must learn to control his temper. He could get sent off in the World Cup, especially if he uses this kind of language.”

Up to this day, we have not yet heard anything from the famous striker. We of course want to hear what he can say about the issue. We don’t want everyone to judge him without him saying his piece.

But hopefully soon we would get to hear what Rooney can actually say about the issue. Everything might be confirmed by the striker to be true but also might be not.

For now, we all just have to actually wait for the time when Rooney will finally say his piece.
