Posh Manager Admits They Are Going Down
Yes, Posh manager Jim Gannon admits that they are going down. The Sky Blues actually got the favor in their recent game.
Well Chris Coleman’s men are still three points outside the top six and are still in stage of batting it out, but the Peterborough United manager already seems pessimistic about their playing chances in the second tier next season. Gannon’s men have just won five games all season, and were actually left unsafe with 13 points.
“We have to put ourselves out of our misery and accept that we are going down,” Gannon of Posh said. “We would need to get three times as many wins as the club has managed all to season to even stand a chance of staying up. We don’t have the depth of quality and we have to be realistic in that we are down.”
The manager believes that it might even help if they become realistic, if they actually stick with what is real.
“We haven’t shown the technical quality required to hit the target and challenge to win games and that was the case again,” the manager said. “We had 11 shots – all on target – in our previous home game against Ipswich but that unfortunately proved to be a false dawn.”
Peterborough United might have wanted to be also closer to the Championship play-off places but then instead of being closer to it, it ended up actually being closer to the relegation. It was just too bad then that Jon Stead was able to make a solitary goal for Coventry City.
But then the team might just be doing good accepting defeat. It is not a good thing but it can actually help to just accept it. The team just have to move on and try even harder to succeed.
