Phillies To Make Adjustment in Their Lineup Just for Games 1 and 2 of the World Series
For this season, Phillies has same lineup because it is proven to be effective, it works. But then for games 1 and 2 of the World Series that will happen at the Yankee Stadium, Phillies manager, Charlie Manuel, will have make adjustment in team’s lineup and will be about having a designated hitter.
Well Manuel seemed to imply that it is going to be the left fielder Raul Ibanez who will be the said hitter. He actually said, “more than likely he’s going to DH”. And additionally, he said at Citizens Bank Park before Monday’s workout that, “he’ll DH some against a left-handed pitcher”.
Manuel really wants Phillies to win and so he will do everything that can help them to. But on the other hand, he doesn’t know yet what to do exactly with the right-handers but one thing that is sure, he will make the most out of having them.
With the Yankees, its left-hander CC Sabathia will start the Game 1 and so Ben Francisco is most probably the one to start in the left field. While its right-hander A.J. Burnett could start the Game 2 and so Ibanez could play in the left field and Matt Stairs or Greg Dobbs could DH.
So far, with all of the efforts of Manuel, Phillies seems very capable of conquering the World Series. The advantage seems to belong to them. In fact, Phillies right fielder Jayson Werth can be remembered saying to support it, “I think that whole part of the World Series is definitely to our advantage”.
Phillies might be in good shape and perform. Credit goes to the big guy of the team and of course at the same to the players or members comprising it. Naturally, the greatest contribution would just come from them.
