Phillies Knocked Off the Yankees

PhilliesYes, the Philadelphia Phillies knocked off the New York Yankees and this took place at the Citizens Bank Park at 8-6 result. This then has resulted to a Game 6 on Wednesday at the Yankee Stadium.

Monday, the Phillies listened to various music and filled the clubhouse with jokes to show the Yankees they are just chilling out. They are only thinking about their good winning chances. It seemed that they have no reason to get stressed, most especially though there will be a Game 6 and they might be then down 3-2. They are confident with their chances considering what they have actually demonstrated in Game 5. And also in general, the team just don’t know how to have any feelings of anxiety. Scott Eyre, Phillies reliever, actually also said that, “I don’t think this team knows how to be nervous or tense”.

Phillies should be really relaxed with all of the wins they have achieved. Added by Eyre, “we changed up the music, a little less Jay-Z. Played pregame Wiffle Ball, at least that’s what it felt like. I think it was the most relaxed we’ve been all year”.

But of course, it is inevitable not to have one or two members of the team getting nervous or tense. That is why, Phillies manager Charlie Manuel planned to talk to members of the team and make sure no one was, most especially in regards to playing their first elimination game since 2007.

Phillies don’t need to change their simple strategy. They should go on being without any sort of unhealthy feelings of nervousness. Just like what first baseman Ryan Howard said, “same attitude, there’s no reason to change”. This is actually something so true. The team should just continue like usual and they will be good.
