O’Neal Left Cleveland Cavaliers’ Game Against Boston Due to Right Thumb Sprain
Cleveland Cavaliers’ game against Boston was partly without Shaquille O’Neal as the veteran basketball player had a “significant” right thumb sprain in the first half of it. O’Neal left the said game but he was most likely just forced to do so.
The team was scheduled for a game Friday night at Toronto but now O’Neal will most probably miss such game according to coach Mike Brown.
“I don’t know how long Shaq will be out,” Brown said. “He’ll see the doctor and it will go from there.”
Even Brown could not exactly explain how O’Neal got the sprain. However, it was most likely when Glen “Big Baby” Davis blocked the shot of O’Neal in the first half with just over 7 minutes left of the time.
O’Neal was not able to give comments regarding what he sustained. But the forward of Cleveland Cavaliers was able to and the things he said were considerable then.
“We need him out there,” LeBron James said. “We play faster without Shaq in the lineup … but in the playoffs you can’t play fast all the time. You need to establish the half-court offense. That’s what he does for us.”
The absence of O’Neal could greatly affect the team’s future games most especially that backup center Zydrunas Ilgauskas was traded to Washington prior to the trade deadline.
O’Neal was able to make six points and two rebounds for his team just before leaving.
Well, accidents do happen and often happen in an instant right before people’s very eyes. Just like with that of O’Neal, it happened and it happened quickly. It caused Cleveland Cavaliers trouble but then the team had to deal with it to make it through victory.
We just hope that O’Neal will soon recover and be able to help the team out in its pursuit to success.
