Morrison Will Never Forget 23rd Birthday
Logan Morrison admitted that he will never forget his 23rd birthday, it will always be special. Not only because he was already a big leaguer on his 23rd birthday but most especially also because he was able to play right in front of his father with lung cancer.
Father of the big leaguer, Tom Morrison, was diagnosed in April with lung cancer. And the father since then has been visiting the hospital. It really mattered to the player that his father was able to watch him play at a Major League park.
Morrison, the big leaguer, said: “It means a lot, for what he’s going through, to be here for my birthday. I know it means a lot to him just to come see me play. He told me today it was surreal to see me play. He got people to chanting for us. I guess there were Yankees fans sitting in front of him, and they said, ‘We’ll cheer for him.’”
While the father, who traveled by train to New York as the doctors advised him not to travel by plane, was so happy to see his son play right in front of him.
However, the Morrison family wondered if the father can still see the first big league hit of the son. The father has serious illness and the family can’t determine if he can still see such important league hit. And the father also thought about not possibly seeing it.
Father said: “That crossed my mind. That I was not going to be around long enough to see his first big league hit.”
But we just hope and pray that the father will recover and that he will get to see the first big league hit of his son. We sincerely hope and pray for the best!
