Mauer Not on DL

Joe MauerJoe Mauer is still not on the disabled list though suffering from an injury. Well, there is no structural damage on the left heel of Mauer based on an MRI. Thus, his manager most likely considers now he doesn’t need to be on such list.

Mauer is confirmed now to be only suffering from a deep soft tissue bruise. And pretty soon, he might just be totally well again.

There had been actually concerns that Mauer might need to be on the the 15-day disabled list because of the injury. But until now he is not on the said list.

But the Twins indeed considered having a roster move to reinstate from the Family Medical Emergency List Nick Blackburn. However because of such MRI, the Twins, to have spot for Blackburn, just optioned Jeff Manship to Triple-A Rochester.

“We needed to hear that the MRI said he didn’t have a crack in his foot or anything like that,” said Twins manager Ron Gardenhire. “Now we know it’s a tissue bruise. It’s not something where we need to sit him down for a couple weeks. Now it’s just let it improve and go from there.”

Good thing Mauer has no serious damage on his left heel. Now, he is still not on the 15-day disabled list.

However, it is not yet clear when Mauer could return for a play. There is actually no timetable for his comeback. But he might not be out for a long period of time considering he is still not on the said list. He might just need to take little time to recover and be well.

Thus, fans of Mauer need not to worry now. He is not suffering from a serious injury. He is only suffering from a deep soft tissue bruise. And just any time soon, he could already return for a play.
