Manchester City to Sign a Goalkeeper on Emergency Loan Basis
Yes, the famous Manchester City might just have to sign a goalkeeper on an emergency loan basis exactly until the end of the season after request to the English Premier League. It seems that the team’s manager, Roberto Mancini, is without any other choice as he lost first-choice keeper Shay Given for the last three games of this season. Saturday, the keeper actually obtained a shoulder injury in the scoreless draw at Arsenal.
Now, the Mancini’s side is badly in chase for fourth place and the final qualifying spot in Champions League. The pressure is no doubt great for the manager to come up with a good solution.
Stuart Taylor is the second option for Mancini however he is also now on the disabled list because of a knee injury. Joe Hart is the third option but currently is on a season-long loan at Birmingham City. Fourth option is David Gonzalez but too bad he is also now with a groin injury.
The fifth option is Faroe Islands international Gunnar Nielsen. Well, he is indeed available and can be tried by Mancini for the series of games that will actually define if City’s season pursuit is a success or else a failure.
At this point in time, Mancini and his men are in the sixth position however just a point adrift Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth spot.
