Key’s Arrival Made Sauber Confident About Start of New Era

James KeyFormer Force India man, James Key, was actually chosen recently as the successor of Willy Rampf, technical director of BMW Sauber for ten long years. He was the best option indeed to replace Rampf who actually has done a lot of things for the team and for them must be praised according to team principal Peter Sauber.

His arrival just made Sauber confident about start of new era. He played a major role as far as the success of Force India is concerned. Thus, the team principal just figured out that his coming could simply reassure beginning of new era.

“I was impressed by what Force India had achieved in recent times on a tight budget, and James Key played a major role in getting them to where they are today,” said Sauber. “For me it was also important to appoint a technical director with a track record of getting the most out of limited resources. He will benefit from the first-class infrastructure at Hinwil and I’m in no doubt that he can take the team forward.”

First Grand Prix of Key for the famous team will indeed be the next round which will be held in China where the Englishman will actually take certain technical responsibility at the circuit.

And for a while, he is actually expected to focus on working on the full potential of C29. However, Sauber also has foreseen him working on the technical department structure. But the team principal also believed that it will not happen instantly.

“Looking further ahead, James will set about putting in place what he considers to be the right structure for the technical department,” said Sauber. “I’m certainly expecting there to be changes. However, these will not happen overnight. It’s a process that will take place over a period of time.”
