Jones Not Ready to Talk About Retirement
The much talked about Chipper Jones returned to Turner Field on Wednesday and he was still displaying some signs of retiring at the end of the season. However, because of some things still being in negotiation, the player refused to talk about the possible retirement. The player was still not ready to discuss it.
But then of course, Jones faced the media and explained well why he can’t still talk about the retirement.
“There’s no change,” said Jones. “After all the courtesy that I’ve given you all over the years, I would hope that I would be given the same courtesy to be able to do this in my own time and my own way. I will address the media when the time is right. Right now, all my questions are not answered.”
According to the third baseman, he got questions but then not yet answered. He wanted them all answered before he talks about the retirement.
“When that happens, I’ll come to [the media] and answer all the questions that I can,” said Jones. “Hopefully it’s very soon. But again, I want to do this my way, and hopefully everybody can understand that, because there are some things that need to be addressed before I start answering questions about my future.”
Jones faced the officials of the team before returning to Turner Field and told them about the retirement at the end of this season that he has been considering. However, a big amount must be put into consideration and questions involving it were thrown however not yet answered. Thus, the veteran preferred not to still talk about the retirement.
Well, hopefully soon the player can already discuss about the retirement. May the questions be given an answer soon. Fans have been badly waiting for the details of the retirement.
