Johnson Delivered Good Performance in Short Encounter With Hitters
In his short encounter with hitters, Josh Johnson was able to deliver good performance. It was only an encounter most likely of 30 pitches, but he was actually able to impress everyone with what he has delivered.
Wes Helms, Marlins’ infielder, was one of the most notable individuals who were impressed then with Johnson’s good performance.
“He’s one of them guys that right now is the time you’d want to face him, and he’s still good,” the corner infielder said. “I’m real pleased with what he had. The ball is exploding out of his hand.”
Johnson was fresh from a contract signing when he threw against the hitters Thursday. The said contract extended his stay with the popular team for at least four years.
Johnson faced Logan Morrison, Chris Coghlan, and of course Wes Helms. And these men were just impressed then of Johnson and what he was showing. Specifically Helms, he was seriously impressed then.
While Johnson was satisfied with what he has delivered, with what he has showed to everyone in the short meet up.
“That was the only thing I was really hoping for was to throw strikes,” Johnson said as he explained. “As soon as you start throwing strikes, then you can start working on other stuff. I threw some good fastballs, a couple good sliders, a couple good changeups, one good two-seamer. There was stuff to build on, so it was good.”
The contract offered to Johnson was worth $39 million and the Marlins just did the right thing to offer the pitcher such high-priced contract. Johnson has just showed what he can do so well as a pitcher and that the Marlins can really benefit from these things. Johnson is a must-have player, a good addition to a team that has been up for more achievements.
