Jason Maxiell Back in Piston’s Starting Lineup For Game Against the Spurs

Jason MaxiellFor Piston’s Wednesday game against the Spurs, coach John Kuester put Jason Maxiell back in the lineup most likely with the hopes of winning so his team can finally be back in standings after being near its worst losing streak in almost 16 years in basketball.

“[It's] just to have another look”, Kuester said. And he added, “right now we’re going through this stretch that maybe mixing it up might help us”.

This season, Maxiell has started 13 games. His last start took place December 23 in a 30-point home defeat to the Raptors.

Kuester believes that there is no problem with Maxiell. He said,”Jason is somebody who has been a true professional through this entire process”.

It seemed that the coach has faith on Maxiell and his capabilities as player despite the odds.

Maxiell took over position of rookie Jonas Jerebko. This rookie can be remembered playing 14 minutes and going 1-for-5 for two points and two rebounds at Dallas.

Kuester concerned about Jerebko actually said, “Jonas is going to be an outstanding basketball player in this league. But he is looking forward to having another player of same kind may be in the person of Maxiell. He said, “now we get another guy [Maxiell] with some fresh legs and ready to go”.

It is indeed a good thing for Maxiell to be back in Piston’s starting lineup for game against the Spurs. He should have been grateful to Piston’s coach John Kuester. At least, he got another chance to prove himself worthy to be in the starting lineup of a one competitive team.

Most likely, Maxiell will strive even more to show everyone, not only Piston’s coach, that he is a good catch and he can really help a team like Piston perform better. Keep our eyes on him.
