Howard Not Bothered About Trade Rumor

ContributorRyan Howard has not been bothered about the trade rumor which recently was confirmed by Phillies general manager to be a false trade rumor.

It was Sunday night when Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. actually confirmed that the said Howard-for-Albert Pujols trade rumor has been nothing but a false trade rumor.

“It’s unequivocally false,” Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said.

And Howard also confirmed that he has not been bothered about the trade rumor. He has not been into it. Well, based on everything that he said during his interview recently, it really seems to us that he has not been bothered about it.

“I don’t really have anything to say about it, to be honest with you, really, truthfully,” Howard said. “I can go back to all the stuff that happened when I was in Double-A and all the talk about trade rumors and that kind of stuff. To be honest, I don’t know anything about anything. I’m not really focused on it.”

Howard explained clearly his thoughts about the trade rumor. He laid down everything.

“If that were the case, which I don’t know if it is or not or whatever, it is what it is,” Howard said. “Just keep going out there and just keep doing your thing. If you do get a call saying you’re traded, just say you’re traded. But until that happens, I’m still a Phillie, I’m still here. So let’s ride it out.”

Howard also said that he was not surprised to hear then his name as one to be possibly traded by Philadelphia Phillies. After the 2011 season, Howard decided to become a free agent along with Albert Pujols. Therefore, he was not surprised to hear then his name as one to be possibly traded by the popular team.

While Pujols had similar thoughts with Howard regarding the trade rumor.
