Games Continue Despite High Possibility of Swine Flu Outbreak

Blackburn RoversEven players themselves aren’t exempted from being a victim of swine flu, yes, everyone isn’t. In fact, boss Sam Allardyce of Blackburn Rovers has actually confirmed that he has three members in his first-team squad who have been affirmed being hit by swine flu. However, at the club in total, there are probably more cases. Allardyce was remembered saying, “we’ve had one more case this morning, one more player and there are a couple of staff”.

Allardyce didn’t actually opt to name names, but there is a great probability that some players are involved and just some staff in additional. At Chelsea on Saturday, David Dunn and Chris Samba missed Blackburn’s 5-0 defeat. They were actually assumptions about them being two of the possible five sufferers of swine flu, but then head of Blackburn Rovers just said, “it’s definitely swine flu – you’ve speculated on the names and I’ll leave it at that”. Allardyce might just don’t want to make things even more complicated and harder for his team and his members most especially for the ones affected by the life-threatening flu.

Despite the high possibility of a swine flu outbreak, rules seem to continue being rules. It is believed that the Premier League has tried to sit on the fence through implying that games can’t be called off.

Everyone in the industry knows that games must be pushed through no matter what happens. Even if there is swine flu outbreak, still the games must be played. The only thing that can cancel games is a government legislation. If there is none, then games are games and they must happen.

But at least Allardyce was able to give all sports and betting enthusiasts an update regarding the condition of his team and his players. For a possible study of the whole situation, he was able to confirm that it looks like that one or two other players and members of his staff had similar symptoms of swine flu.
