Francesco Totti Will Stay With AS Roma Until 2014
A lot of football and betting enthusiasts have been really keeping themselves updated about AS Roma and captain Francesco Totti and if they will continue to be “partners” in the world of football. At present, Totti is still the Roma captain and under a contract. But this contract is about to expire in June 2010.
Most likely, Roma has considered Totti’s performance and over-all contribution that is why the captain will still continue being a part of a great force. Totti will stay with the club for some more years. He actually signed a contract extension. He will be with the Italian club until the end of the 21013-14 campaign.
Totti, for the record, already spent his entire senior career with Roma, scoring almost 200 goals in more than 400 appearances he had since his first-team debut way back in 1992. The club won the World Cup in 2006 and he was a big part of such victory.
But the 33-year-old captain is about to become a free agent next summer. Until of course when he signed a contract extension, in a way saying he will give up possibility of becoming a free agent next summer and just stay with Roma for some more years.
The club released a statement and it read: “AS Roma and captain Francesco Totti announce they have reached an agreement to extend the contract, currently ending in June 2010, until June 2014. The player will receive 8.6million euros per season”.
Now, there is confirmation, Totti will continue to be with Roma until 2014, specifically until June of the said year. Football and betting enthusiasts who have been really interested about Totti’s possible stay with the club for some more years can now rest from wondering and all as it is now confirmed that the captain will still be with the club for roughly four more years.
