England Moved Up to Seventh in FIFA’s World Rankings

England National TeamYes, Fabio Capello’s national football team has made it to move up to seventh in the FIFA’s world rankings despite of not doing well in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The England national football team is now one place higher in the world rankings despite of World Cup performance.

Capello’s men actually failed to make it in the round of 16 of the tournament and then advance. In the second round, they did not win against Germany and so were not able to go on in the World Cup.

The manager must be happy in a way with them as a team moving up to seventh in the FIFA’s world rankings despite their World Cup debacle. At least they became one place higher in the world rankings despite not doing well in the tournament.

The manager got a lot of criticisms in regards to the performance of England team in the World Cup. But then David Beckham was there to back the manager with everything. Beckham said that the manager prepared the players right and so not deserving of criticisms.

While the Spain team replaced Brazil team at the top of the rankings after beating Netherlands team. Holland team was up two places to second with Brazil team slipping down to third place. Brazil team only reached the quarter-finals though a pre-tournament favorite.

France team slipped down to 21st and Italy to 11th. Both teams fallen seriously in the rankings after failing to qualify from their groups.

But the Uruguay team was able to move up ten places to sixth after giving a good performance and New Zealand moved up to 54th from being at 78th before. New Zealand team was the only team that did not lose a game in the finals thus the team moved up seriously to 54th.
