For the USA and Fulham forward Clint Dempsey, England lacked confidence in the 1-1 draw between the two sides in Rustenberg. According to Dempsey, the national team seemed to be just without confidence in the weekend game.

“You would think these players would be full of confidence,” said Dempsey. “There just seemed to be an edge to the team, but it could have just been the opening game. They were edgy, there was edginess to their game, but I think they’re a team with quality and they should play with confidence.”
