Drainage Problems Led to Stockport-Torquay FA Cup Tie Being Postponed Twice
Unexpected but it is true that drainage problems led to the much-awaited Stockport-Torquay FA Cup Tie being postponed twice. Hopefully this time, the clash will finally happen at the Macclesfield’s Moss Rose ground on Tuesday, December 15.
Supposedly, it was final that the tie will be held at the Edgeley Park but then a pitch at the said park must be repaired. Thus, it was decided that the tie will be held at the Macclesfield’s Moss Rose ground instead.
Stockport, through their website, explained that they wanted the remedial work be pushed through as early as possible and that they will also feel complacent if it will happen as it will mean that future fixture will most likely not be jeopardized.
Before Stockport encouraged the remedial work being pushed through, they had a talk with Sale Sharks, another user of the Edgeley Park.
Before the work starts, the club still has no worries with regards to the Saturday’s fixture against Charlton. The club believes it will go ahead.
People have been waiting for the Stockport-Torquay FA Cup Tie and for the two postponements it went through, it was able to get significant amount of attention from these people. May it finally happen at the Macclesfield’s Moss Rose ground on Tuesday, December 15. In case of a draw or say another postponement, the fixture will be moved to Torquay’s Plainmoor on December 22.
Between December 12 and 20, Stockport revealed that the Edgeley Park will most likely go through pitch repair. At least, when the repair is done, the park can be completely available for any events. There will be no problem anymore with hosting events, big or small.
Meanwhile, people should look forward to being at Macclesfield’s Moss Rose ground for the Stockport-Torquay FA Cup Tie.
