Charnock’s Red Card Caused Inconvenience to Buckle and His Team

Paul BucklePaul Buckle, Torquay United boss, expressed his dismay regarding the inconvenience that red card of Kieran Charnock caused him and his team. But then, it seemed like, he was not mad directly to Charnock’s sending-off for a challenge, but to FA failing to immediately examine the Gulls’ appeal over the issue. There was a delay, according to him.

The Gulls actually made an appeal regarding Charnock’s red card. But then, FA did not examine it as soon as they can. Thus, the Torquay United boss told the BBC Radio Devon that, “it’s really disappointing. The FA demand that we get the DVD away on the Sunday or Monday and we’ve done that. But we don’t hear until the Friday and I can’t work that one out”.

Charnock was actually sent off for a challenge on Dean Holden during the 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury last weekend. Now, the Gulls of course want to know if FA will really support Charnock’s sending-off, as expected on the afternoon of Friday.

Buckle claimed that their preparations for the coming home game against Rotherham on Saturday were hampered because of FA not giving any words about Charnock’s red card. He indeed said that, “It doesn’t help me, it doesn’t help the club or the players. We’re trying to prepare and Kieran needs to know whether he’s in or out but it’s a guessing game”. And he added that he realizes that the only thing they can do is to train as hard as they can.

But naturally, there are always two sides of the story. And in this story about Charnock’s sending-off for a challenge and the appeal regarding it that FA failed to immediately examine, it is only the side of Buckle who sides in Charnock that we have heard. FA may have a reason for failing to, something we are still clueless about.
