Chandhok Now a Part of HRT Team
HRT recently confirmed that the Indian racer Karun Chandhok will actually race for the team this season. The confirmation took place in Murcia just last week and it happened along with the presentation of HRT’s car for this season.
“I am very pleased to use the Murcia site to officially unveil our car livery,” HRT principal Colin Kolles said. “We also complete the driver’s team line up with the Indian Karun Chandhok at the wheel of the car for our first-ever season. We have been very impressed with Karun’s performance in GP2.”
Kolles added that things will finally be in place after the race that should register the team’s name. According to him, they will do better this season. But he said that before they are able to they all should learn and keep developing first as a team, it will be the key for their success.
Chandhok, with seven wins and nine poker positions in 2006, actually got the Asian Formula Renault V6 Champion title. And he was able to compete in the GP2 series and win two races the following seasons. The previous year, he earned the 18th place in the GP2 standings after settling with 3rd place in the British event.
Chandhok might really be a great addition to the HRT team most especially with Bruno Senna around. He might be a great partner to the Brazilian racer.
But of course, we will only know if he will be after he makes his first few starts in the race tracks. However, we can’t ignore what he has got as a racer, thus he would have his own share to the team’s future success.
In time, we will see his true potentials as he drives through the tracks all for the HRT team. We all just need some time to.
