Carlos Arroyo Considered as Miami’s Starting Point Guard for the Foreseeable Future
This might open a new betting market, but if ever it will, it will not be so surprising. It is interesting – Carlos Arroyo as Miami’s starting point guard for the foreseeable future. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra will be the accountable if ever. This fine coach said that Arroyo will be the starting point guard of Miami for the foreseeable future because of the game against Orlando.
Arroyo takes over position of second-year guard Mario Chalmers. In relation to this, Spoelstra said, “I still think Mario can go to another level as a young player”, and that, “he wants to go to the next level, but part of that process is learning the responsibility of being a starting point guard in this league, which is to be perfect beyond reproach”.
Chalmers became the first Heat rookie to start all 82 games last season. And until Tuesday, he had a 104-game consecutive starts streak. He is averaging 9.3 points, 4.3 assists and 1.9 turnovers a game.
While Arroyo, in the Toronto game, earned 12 points and recorded three assists but failed to have recorded even just one turnover. He is averaging 5.0 points, 1.9 assists and 0.7 turnovers a game.
Spoelstra said, “I like Carlos in a role like this because he’s been there, he’s done it, he’s filled this role” – some really good words.
Heat coach Spoelstra is most likely looking forward to seeing Arroyo play and continue to do what he loves doing. To also improve and eventually really be Miami’s starting point guard. But of course, it will be a matter of time, to make all these happen.
Meanwhile, let us wait and see if there will be more betting action in connection to what Spoelstra thinks Arroyo will actually become in the foreseeable future. There might be more.
