Calf Problem Causing Ferdinand Some Troubles

Rio FerdinandEngland central defender Rio Ferdinand has been on the hot heat for some time now. But the good thing is, he has also been with a defender in the person of Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

The big boss of Manchester United believes that there are some good reasons why he has to defend Ferdinand. He has to stand up and defend him. The 30-year-old player has been far from his best in the past weeks. He has been making errors for both the club and the country. But then, all these are with valid reasons and these must be brought out to the public.

At least, Ferguson has been exerting efforts to let the public know about what’s going on with Ferdinand. He has actually been talking to reporters, telling them that his player should be given the consideration and all. One time, he actually said, “in my time here, we have always had one of our star players finding he gets criticized when he has a little blip. It seems to be part and parcel of being a player at Manchester United. We are all aware of that. No player likes to be criticizcled. We all like to be loved and want arms around our shoulders at times. But he will come out of it – there is no question about that. There is no discernible depreciation in his qualities, none at all.”

Ferguson thinks that the calf problem that Ferdinand is suffering from is the main reason for all the troubles that the player has been having. For him, it is not easy to play with a physical problem and something like a calf problem can be really troublesome.

Ferguson believes that Ferdinand deserves a chance to pick himself up right in front of the public. He may not be 100 percent fit now but then he has been a good player.
