Some of Bruce Bowen’s fans are really disappointed right now because he is retiring after having 12 good seasons with the NBA. There are some people that hated him and some that loved him and hate seeing him go.

Most of the NBA crowd, though, is glad to see him go because of the way he just made the crowd angry and got them playing really aggressively towards each other. He  was a really good defender, and he had some fans that would bet on him all of the time for that reason. His one problem was that he let things get out of control with his temper and a lot of times made the crowd angry with him.

Fans believe that Bruce Bowen had anger problems because he had a really bad childhood growing up. He was faced with having to deal with a mother on drugs and a father that had problems with alcohol. He had to grow up fast, and he became estranged with both parents and other relatives. He turns to friends to help him get over that. Bruce Bowen also had a family that adopted him, and he started looking up to his adopted parents, which is partly the reason why he didn’t become like his mother or his father. His adopted parents saved him from a lot of trouble and headaches down the road.

Some people are hoping that since he is now retired that he will be turning his attention to the Bruce Bowen Foundation that he has going and maybe fulfill his dream of becoming a teacher, so he can help others out. He speaks out against child obesity and is really trying to bring some needed attention to it.  He’s hoping that he can send out a positive message about it and what happens when your child is obese. It’s a very serious problem, and there aren’t that many players of any sport that help bring people’s attention to it.

Things went downhill very fast for Bruce Bowen after he lost last season, and he just couldn’t pull himself together. He knew that something had to be done and that he wasn’t going to be able to play much longer. Bruce Bowen tried very hard, though, to continue playing.  In the end, he just couldn’t quite make it, and he knew it.

While there are mixed feelings about Bruce Bowen retiring from the NBA, the NBA only wishes him the best and they hope that whatever he does next, he is able to find some peace with it and that he will be happy with his choice of career.
