Braves Again First-Place With Help of Jones

Chipper JonesChipper Jones was able to extend help to the Braves to be back at the top of the National League East standings just recently and therefore everyone is now talking about the Braves for being able to be back at the once-familiar spot. Jones was able to give aid to the Braves and for this just worth praising.

Jones duped Joe Blanton with a two-run, first-inning homer that actually was significant to the 9-3 win the Braves earned Monday afternoon at Turner Field. But the veteran was rewarded for it with the chance to experience again how to be part of a first-place team.

“Rounding first, I was like, ‘You did exactly what you needed to do in that first at-bat in the first inning of a game where you’re vying for first place,’” said Jones. “You put a good at-bat up there, the guy made a mistake and you put it out of the park and helped give your team a 2-0 lead and helped get them jump-started. There really isn’t a prouder moment you can have than going out and leading by example.”

With 16 wins considering past 20 games, the Braves made it to June with force but with understanding that everyone must still work hard to remain a good one so that by the end of the season everyone could just feel proud.

“It’s better than being on the bottom, that’s for sure,” said Braves manager Bobby Cox. “We have [111] games to go, something like that. A lot of baseball left, but we made a great recovery and we’ll take what we’ve got right now, that’s for sure.”

One accomplishment should not stop a person or a group from having another. Like with the Braves, the recent accomplishment earned should not stop everyone from having another. The more the better.
