Brandon Webb Now Back on the Mound

Brandon WebbIn august of last year, D-backs ace Brandon Webb had a surgery on his right shoulder. And since then on, he became inactive on the mound for he needed rest. But it is a good thing that now, he is back in good form to where he really belongs.

Webb said to MLB.com, “[It] went good. [The] ball came out well, but I was just thinking about arm slot on every throw. That’s to be expected, not having thrown on the mound in so long.”

For last year, Webb was only able to make one start due to discomfort on his right shoulder. It was indeed in August when he underwent debridement, a minor surgery that cleaned up some scuffle around his labrum.

A.J. Hinch, D-backs manager, said, “It was good to get him into the next phase of his rehabilitation. He looked comfortable. This is a positive sign as we’re getting close to Spring Training. I thought he looked good.”

In the middle of November of last year, Webb played as a catch. Though underwent a procedure, he was able to play well and without any trouble. But after some throws, he opted to take a complete rest for two months.

After taking some time to be away from the field, Webb decided to come back and therefore was recently on the mound.

However, the club will be careful with Webb during this spring. He seems in better condition now but then he still underwent debridement. Most likely, he will need some extra days between throwing sessions for rest. There is no need to rush things with him. What should be done now by the club is to take one step at a time as far as he is concerned. Soon, he will be done with the rehabilitation process, he will be completely fine.
