Almunia Can Only Continue Working
Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia recently talked about the rumors on the club and Fulham shot-stopper Mark Schwarzer. It was actually said that The Gunners might have Schwarzer as replacement. But then, Almunia said he could leave the club if ever it happens.
Almunia also admitted that he has been troubled by the rumors involving the club and Schwarzer. He has been having a hard time concentrating because of the possibility of him being replaced by the club. But of course, he has also figured out that the only thing he can do is to actually continue working until it is confirmed that The Gunners will have Schwarzer.
Almunia said: βTo be honest, it is so difficult to concentrate because Arsenal is a big club and speculation is always in the news and everywhere. The only thing I can do is keep working because I have a contract here and I have to do what the manager wants from me. I have not spoken to him. If somebody comes in, I will have to talk about my future at Arsenal. That is it. I cannot talk now, because the talking would be for nothing.β
Almunia believed that the talking would be for nothing as somebody is not yet in place.
And Almunia admitted that he is very glad to be at Emirates Stadium and he will just continue to work to help and will just talk one day when he is not good anymore for Arsenal.
Almunia said: βI have to work and if one day I am not good for Arsenal, I will talk. That is no problem. I am very happy here. The only news I have is from third parties – people at the training ground. When I go out and when I come back from training, I switch off.β
