2010 Chinese Grand Prix Won by Button
The 2010 Chinese Grand Prix was indeed won by the man from McLaren-Mercedes, Jenson Button. Well, some fans were actually surprised that Button won, beaten everyone else there. Sebastian Vettel was actually the favorite then by the bookmakers to win the competition for Red Bull Racing. But he won, Vettel only ended up as sixth placer.
Lewis Hamilton, also of McLaren-Mercedes, got the second place. Thus, Button was so happy then and in an interview expressed his great gladness.
“This was my best victory in Formula One,” said Button. “Every race you win becomes your best, but this was an extremely special win in very tough conditions. And it’s especially satisfying because it was a really dominant victory for the whole Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team. We scored a one-two today, and the reason we did so was that every single element within the team worked perfectly.”
He was so happy with the outcome of the race. But he believed that it was not luck that brought them to the top.
“From the strategy calls to the pit stops, you need to get everything just right if you’re going to win in conditions like these,” added by Button. “And today we did indeed get everything just right.”
While Hamilton, after the race, actually congratulated Button for a job well done. He was happy that the racer who took the top spot was his good friend and team mate.
“Congratulations to Jenson – he did an incredible job and made an excellent tyre choice in what were very tricky conditions this afternoon,” said Hamilton.
Hamilton most likely did not mind being just second to Button. After all his win was also his win as it was for McLaren-Mercedes which according to the racer can be considered strong despite of having cars that must still be improved.
